2011 Walk to Remember Inland Empire
Thank you to everyone who joined us on October 15th at our Second Annual Walk to Remember, Inland Empire. It was our honor to remember and celebrate the precious lives of 86 babies gone too soon. We welcomed 424 participants to California State University, San Bernardino. We greatly appreciate each and every participant and fundraiser. As a whole, we raised over $7,000. Proceeds from this year’s event will be used to:
•Provide 6 hospitals in the Inland Empire with quality photo paper and ink to be able to print out the best pictures of each baby.
•Fund the purchase of memory boxes for 2 hospitals in our area who do not have them to give at this time.
•Provide several Sibling Comfort Packages available for the brothers and sisters grasping the loss of their new baby.
•Support our Tender Mercies program, offering compassionate assistance to families in need with the unexpected end-of-life fees after losing a baby.
•Begin a Perinatal ComfortCare program, which will support families who wish to carry their baby to term despite a fatal diagnosis during pregnancy.
With your continued contributions, families enduring pregnancy and infant loss in the Inland Empire will no longer leave the hospital with empty arms and receive the support they need.
The following hospitals also benefit from Walk to Remember, Inland Empire:
•San Antonio Community Hospital
•Redlands Community Hospital
•St. Bernardine Medical Center
•Corona Regional Medical Center
•Pomona Valley Hospital
•Parkview Community Hospital
Girl Scout Troop 10634 were the recipients of this year’s Compassion Award. Every family received a Memorial Garden in memory of their baby, handmade by the troop. We were honored to present them with this award and are thankful for them reaching out to our community and giving families a beautiful garden to remember their baby by.
