Q: Will the Walk to Remember be the same as last year?
A: Yes, the integrity and schedule of Walk will continue as it has in years past. Some changes are necessary, but these changes were in the process of being completed prior to the organization change from Walk to Remember, Inland Empire to Forever Footprints. The Walk to Remember, Inland Empire, a Forever Footprints event will continue to be managed and run by the same event coordinator as in years past. Even many of the key volunteers which made the original organization so wonderful are continuing on as volunteers for the Walk.
Q: When is the Walk to Remember event held each year?
A: Each year our event is held in the month of October, which is nationally recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. The 6th Annual Walk to Remember, Inland Empire, a Forever Footprints event will be held on October 24, 2015.
Q: Do I have to register each of my children?
A: No, children 10 and under are free. Please list their names and ages on your registration form in the appropriate location.
Q: Are pets allowed at the event?
A: No, per California State University’s regulations, pets are not allowed at the event, with the exception of service dogs.
Q: What if I register for the event, but then am unable to attend? Can I have my shirt and program shipped to me?
A: Unfortunately, due to the vast requests, we are unable to mail unclaimed items after the event. However, you are welcome to designate someone to pick up your shirt for you.
Q: Why is there a fee to attend the event?
A: Forever Footprints, dba: Walk to Remember, Inland Empire is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our programs are funded by funds raised and donations made throughout the year. The event itself endures costs to host. Additionally, proceeds from the event are used to fund our various programs that assist our community. For a detailed description of each program, click here.
Q: Are registration fees refundable of I am no longer able to attend?
A: We apologize for the inconvenience, but registration fees are not refundable. It is considered a tax deductible donation.
Q: Can family and friends join us to walk without registering?

Q: Will baby names be on the back of the t-shirts?
A: Unfortunately, the number of baby names registered has now grown to over 500 names and we physically are no longer able to put all the names on the shirts. Instead of our baby’s’ names being on the t-shirts, we will have a Baby Memorial Wall at the event. All names registered prior to 10/5 will appear on the Memorial Wall.
Q: What if I missed the registration deadline, can I still get my child’s name on the Memorial Wall?
A: Unfortunately, for the wall to be printed in time for the event, you must have your registration in prior to the October 5th deadline to have your baby’s name on the 2015 memorial wall.
Q: Can I purchase a t-shirt the day of the event?
A: Yes, t-shirts will be available at the event on a limited basis.
Q: Can I register on site at the event?
A: While on-site registration is available, we encourage you to register ahead of time online to ensure a quick check-in the day of the event. By registering on-site the day of the event, your baby’s name will NOT be on the Memorial Wall. All babies registered onsite the day of the event will have their name read during the memorial ceremony.
Day-of registration fees are as follows:

T-shirts are only guaranteed to those that pre-register on or before October 5th. Day of registration does not guarantee you a t-shirt.
Q: What do the t-shirts look like?
A: The 2015 t-shirts will be white short-sleeved, 100% pre-shrunk cotton. On the back there is a list of our sponsors. The front of the shirt has the Walk to Remember, Inland Empire, a Forever Footprints event logo on it.
Q: Who do I contact if I would like to help volunteer for the event?
A: Volunteers for the event are always welcome. If you would like to volunteer your time on the day of the event or if you would like to join our Planning Committee, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Q: Can we bring strollers?
A: This is a family event and you are more than welcome to bring strollers and wagons. However, skateboards, scooters, and roller skates are not permitted.
Q: What is the terrain of the remembrance walk portion of the program?
A: The path around the university is concrete and handicap accessible from various areas. However, the area around the ceremony location where merchants and support groups are stationed is grass.
Q: What is the distance of the remembrance walk?
A: The path around Cal State San Bernardino is under 3 miles. There is a shorter route also available that’s about 1 mile.
Q: What will happen if there is inclement weather?
A: The Annual Walk to Remember, Inland Empire, a Forever Footprints event will go on every year, rain or shine! We suggest that you prepare for the weather conditions on the day of the event.
Q: If I am unable to attend the event, can you still include my baby in the ceremony?
A: Absolutely! We are honored to remember and celebrate your baby and thank you for sharing your child with us. Please email email@example.com and your baby’s name will be read aloud during the ceremony.
Q: Will there be a balloon release?
A: As the event has grown over the years, we have been advised to not have a balloon release at this years Walk. We can not stop anyone from releasing a balloon, but we request for the safety of the environment and area that you keep your balloon. No scheduled balloon release will be apart of the event.
Q: How much is parking?
A: FREE – but only in Lot C!
Q: Where is the event being held this year?
A: We are thankful that our Event Sponsor – The Institute of Child Development and Family Relations – is welcoming us to enjoy the beautiful campus at California State University, San Bernardino. For a map and directions, visit their website.
Q: This will be my first year attending. What can I expect?
A: We understand the mixed feelings attending an event like this can be. Please know, you are not alone. The Walk to Remember event has been very healing and aided in the grieving process for many families. Take a look at a previous year’s video by A Sweet Life Photography.
Q: How long does the event last?
A: Check-in begins promptly at 8:00 AM. We are expecting a large crowd and encourage you to get to the event early to allow yourself plenty of time to check-in and participate in the pre-ceremony activities. The Remembrance Ceremony will begin at 9:30. We will conclude the event with our Memorial Walk, around 11:30 AM.
